A Dutch company has begun to investigate a new clinical trial for the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.

In a new, independent research study, the company has received a request from Pfizer for samples of the drug.

On Wednesday, the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services approved a law that allows women to have Viagra prescription drugs as long as they have a doctor’s prescription.

The law, passed in February, allows for the use of prescription-only prescription drugs under the Food and Drug Administration’s.

“This is a good law, but it’s going to be a tough one,” said Michael D. Stahl, a medical director at the FDA’s National Center for Health Research. “It may not be as effective as others in their own clinical trials, but it’s not going to be a tough one.”

Viagra, which treats erectile dysfunction, is not approved by the FDA. The drug is approved only for women and may not be used by men. The drug, also called sildenafil, works by increasing blood flow to the penis.

Dr. Emily Carter, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the University of California at San Diego, said she was prescribed Viagra for a woman who developed the condition when a doctor told her she needed it for more than two weeks.

“She felt that it was important to be able to take it for two weeks and still be able to go home,” Carter said.

She said she had tried taking the medicine and it worked just fine.

“She was able to go home without having to see a doctor and have sex without needing to go to a doctor,” Carter said.

The FDA is expected to review the law next week. It is not yet finalized on the law’s website.
